Sport North Looking for Presenters for New Coach Professional Development Inspiration Series

Sport North and Physical Literacy NWT are excited to launch a new Territorial Coach Professional Development Inspiration Series this fall, and we’re looking for coaches, leaders, officials, and sport volunteers who would like to share their experiences and passion with the coaching community across the Northwest Territories.

The series is built on a simple idea: NWT coaches learning from NWT coaches.

Every community, every sport, and every coach has a story to tell. Whether you’ve coached at the community level, developed athletes for Multi-Sport Games, started a new club, mentored volunteers, instilled character, or simply learned valuable lessons along the way, your experiences can inspire others. Each session will be held virtually over lunch and will provide NCCP Professional Development (PD) points for participating coaches. Sessions are designed to be relaxed might say informal vs relaxed, practical, and conversational, creating opportunities for coaches from across the territory to connect, share ideas, and continue growing together.

While the focus will be on Northern experiences and success stories, the series will also feature occasional guest presenters from across Canada who can bring additional knowledge and perspectives on coaching, athlete development, and leadership.

“We’re in the moments business … meeting them, embracing them, learning from them, celebrating them.” – Spider Jones

You don’t need to be a professional presenter. Some of the best learning happens when coaches simply share their experiences, challenges, lessons learned, and a few great stories along the way. If you are interested in presenting, or would like to recommend someone, we’d love to hear from you. Please contact Spider Jones (coaching@sportnorth.com ) at Sport North to express your interest and help us build a Professional Development Inspiration Series that reflects the strength, diversity, and passion of coaching in the Northwest Territories.
