The Power of “Not Yet”

Two small words can change the way we see ourselves: “Not yet.”

“I cannot skate” becomes “I cannot skate yet.”
“I cannot catch the ball” becomes “I cannot catch the ball yet.”

Physical literacy is a lifelong journey. We build confidence and movement skills by trying, making mistakes, asking questions, and trying again. Progress does not always happen at the same speed, especially when people have not had the same opportunities.

The latest Physical Literacy NWT column in the Hay River Hub explores the power of keeping the door open for children, athletes, and adults. Sometimes the distance between “I cannot” and “I can” is not talent. Sometimes it is time, encouragement, and someone who believes in us.

Thank you to the Hay River Hub for helping us share this message across the North. #PhysicalLiteracyNWT #NotYet #PhysicalLiteracy #MovementForLife #ConfidenceToMove #ActiveForLife #NorthernSport
