Our logo was designed to represent movement, people, and connection. Every element has a purpose.

The five colourful shapes represent people. They are not athletes or specific sports. They represent everyone, regardless of age, ability, culture, or background. Whether you are taking your first steps, coaching a team, harvesting on the land, dancing at a celebration, or walking with friends, you are part of our community.

Together, these five figures form a circle. The circle represents community. It reminds us that physical literacy is something we build together. Families, schools, recreation leaders, coaches, Elders, volunteers, municipalities, and sport organizations all have a role in helping people develop the confidence and skills to be active for life.

The open circle is just as important. It reminds us that there is always room for someone new. Physical literacy is inclusive. Everyone belongs, and everyone is welcome.

The star at the top symbolizes the North. It reflects the northern sky that connects every community across the Northwest Territories. It also represents guidance, inspiration, and the bright future we hope to create by helping more people discover the joy of movement.

The colours were also chosen with purpose. The fresh blues, greens, pinks, and coral tones create a welcoming and positive feeling while reflecting the diversity and energy of northern communities. The brand uses these colours consistently to create a recognizable identity across all of its communications.

Our logo is more than a design. It reflects our vision of bringing people together through movement, education, collaboration, and community. Physical Literacy NWT exists to help people gain the confidence and skills they need to move well, feel connected, and stay active throughout every stage of life.
